Basa is a great value fish that is skinless and boneless. It has a light flavour and soft texture, making it perfect for kids!


Buying tips:

Basa fillets are sold frozen from our seafood departments.

When buying basa look for a light firm texture that is moist, white in colour with no brown markings.

Storage tips:

Frozen basa from Coles’ seafood department should be stored in the fridge in either an airtight container or well wrapped on a plate or tray. Cook and eat within 3 days of purchase.

Ensure the fish is fully thawed before cooking, and do not re-freeze.


Cooking tips:

The soft texture of basa fillets makes them ideal for grilling, pan-frying and baking.

For a super fresh meal idea, simply toss a basa fillet in tarragon and lemon dressing, pan-fry for 1-2 minutes each side, and serve with a sublime pear and rocket salad.
